The Schönstätter Marienschule Vallendar maintains close contact with its partner school in Burundi, including through the „Burundi AG“ (Burundi Working Group). Klaus Ullenbruch, head of the Burundi AG, reports on a great event from Mutumba: „On March 1, 2026, we received the news that the volleyball team from our partner school, ETG in Burundi, had won the national volleyball tournament! After my trip to Burundi at Pentecost in 2024, the sports teacher at ETG asked for our support. They were in need of good balls for volleyball, basketball, and soccer. Back in Germany, the funds raised from our school's fundraising events were used to purchase the balls, and a Sister of Mary was able to take them to Burundi. A year and a half later, we congratulate the team and are delighted to have contributed a small part to their success with the training balls, especially considering that the school's sports field is a simple sand court across from the school.“We also congratulate you on your great achievement!
