As part of a joint event organized by the Friends of the Wilhelmshaven Coastal Museum and our association, author Reiner Engelmann presented passages from his book „Der Fotograf von Auschwitz“ (The Photographer of Auschwitz) in a concert reading on Friday, February 13, 2026. He was accompanied musically by his wife Bernadette Boos. Between the read passages, she sang Klezmer and Romani songs.

Reiner Engelmann was a special education teacher and is the author of numerous books on critical social issues. He is deeply committed to human rights. Children's rights hold a special significance for him.

That is why, after the reading by our 1st Chairwoman, Dr. Wiebke Endres, he was appointed Ambassador of „Teachers Without Borders Germany.“ Reiner Engelmann accepted the Ambassador certificate with great joy and pledged to support us in enforcing the child's right to education from now on.
